Narayan Gopal Biography

Narayan Gopal is born on October 4th of 1939 into a newar family in Kathmandu. He is regarded to be the most popular singer of Nepali music. He is renowned as the “Swor Samrat” in Nepai Music. The most of songs that he has sung in his period are categorized as tragedy. In this case, he is even called as “Tragic King.”

Gopal completed his School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exams in 2016 B.S. and later he achieved Bachelor in Art degree in Humanities in Tri-Chandra College. He later showed his interests in music field. This is why he had gone to Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in order to study the classical Indian Music. But he married Pemala Lama in 1971 without finishing his musical studies.

Gopal later he joined the Rastriya Naach Ghar as manager. He too had worked as the editor of a musical journal Bageena for the third issue in 2028 B.S. Later he became the advisor of the Ministry of Communication from 2046 and associate professor in Lalit Kala Campus.

In his earlier career of music, his talent was recognized by Gopal’s friend, Mank Ratna Sthapit who used to do the vocal training together with Prem Dhoj Pradhan. This is the way that the singer gets the opportunity to sing the song. After the completion of the SLC exams, Prem Dhoj Pradhan took Gopal for the test in Radio Nepal. He sang the song, “Panchi Ko Pankha ma dharti ko diyo” which was written by Dr. Ram Man Trishit and composed by Prem Dhoj Pradhan himself.

Raju Lama Biography

Raju Lama is a Nepali pop singer born on 16th March, 1978 at Sindhupalchowk to Sukhbir and Yanqchun Lama.  He had moved to Kathmandu at the age of five with his sister and completed his SLC from Siddhartha Vanasthali School of Kathmandu.

Raju started to record his songs since 1993 as the vocalist of the band Mongolian Hearts whose first album released was “Mongolian Heart, Vol-1″. Although his first solo album “Soltini” was released in the year 1994 with 8 songs of which “Baadaluma Luki Basne…” was the famous song although the album was sold on average. His songs are much appreciated by youngsters and he is one among the busy singers of Nepal who are demended for shows in Nepal and in abroad. The recent album by Raju Lama is “Mongolian Heart, Vol-6″ that was released last year after he was back from the USA.

Abhaya Subba Biography

Abhaya Subba a Nepali singer from Darjeeling, India is a good song writer, singer and a musician. She is one of the reknown rock band singer in Nepali Music Industry.

Abhaya had completed her studies in LLB from St. Xaviers, Mumbai. She is also a well experienced RJ as she had worked in Times FM of Delhi and Hits FM here in Nepal. Her father was the main inspiration for her to involve in music since childhood. Before making own Rock band “Abhaya & the Steam Injuns” she had worked with some Rock bands like “Red Skywalders” and “Punchtatva” in the beginning. Her band “Abhaya & the Steam Injuns” have given some popular Nepali music like : “Timro Lagi”, “Antim Patra”, “Aayeko Chhu” and some others.

Sugam Pokharel Biography

Sugam Pokharel, the 1 Man Band (1MB) singer of Nepal is one of the most renown singer of Nepali Music Industry. While talking about Sugam Pokharel, he is the youngest child of two brothers and two sisters above him born on 20th September 1979 in Mangalbare, Morang. He was a very shy during his childhood as he became able to overcome his shyness only when he was in class 8. He remembers listening to the songs of Sanjay Shrestha, Deep Shrestha and Harish Mathema which unknowingly influenced him to start his singing career.

His hobbies includes listening to music and playing guitar, also he loves to read novels. Narayan Gopal, Bhakta Raj Acharya, Ambar Gurung, Sanjay Shrestha are some of his favoriate Nepali singers. He has participated in lot of concerts in and out of Nepal organized by Nepalese community. Sugam is widely appreciated for his own style of music and song composition that makes any one to listen it repeatedly.
